Keeping your pets cool & chill this summer

As a pet-friendly apartment community, 580 Anton is always looking to have the back of our furry friends. The summer heat can be quite brutal, especially for pets. Did you know we’ve got a convenient pet grooming salon amenity right here in our smoke-free community so you can give your pet a refreshing bath any time? When they are not at home cool and oh so comfortable in your luxurious and air-conditioning residence at 580 Anton, there are some things to keep in mind to keep them safe outdoors during the excessive heat. Here are some quick tips from the Humane Society.

Never ever leave a pet in a locked car. Take them with you, or better yet, leave them at home with plenty of water and the a/c on.

Limit exercise and walks for them on hot days. Do it later in the day.

When it gets cooler out, have your pet walk on the grass. Asphalt gets very hot and can burn your pet’s paws very quickly.

Always have water with you, whether inside or out, for your pet.

Got to a professional groomer and get a “summer/puppy cut” for your pet if their breed has more of a heavier coat. Check with your bet to be sure. In some breeds, it’s not necessary.

Always ask your pet’s veterinarian the specific recommendations that apply to your pet’s current health, age, medications, etc.
